Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information idle.ipe.rest (“the Site”) handles when you visit, and the choices you have. The Site is operated by Davy Kim (ipe Studio) (“we”, “us”), an individual developer. Effective date: 2026-10-24.
In short: there are no accounts, no sign-up forms and no comments on this Site, and we do not ask you for personal information. We do use analytics, and the Site may show ads from Google AdSense, and both can involve cookies — explained below.
1. Information we collect
- Information you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address and what you write, and use it only to reply.
- Usage data (automatic). Through the analytics tools below we receive technical and usage information such as the pages you view, the track you choose, approximate location (city or country level), device and browser type, language and referring page. We do not use this to identify you personally.
- Server logs. The Site is hosted on GitHub Pages. The host may process technical request data such as your IP address as part of delivering the pages.

3. Advertising (Google AdSense)
The Site may display advertising served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.
We do not control the cookies set by Google or other ad partners, and we do not receive your personal information from them.
4. Cookies and local storage
- Cookies may be set by Google Analytics and by Google and its advertising partners, as described above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the Site still works without them.
- Local storage. The Site saves two small preferences in your browser’s localStorage: your theme (light or dark) and your language. They stay on your device, are not sent to us, and you can clear them at any time in your browser.
- Session storage. When you close the language suggestion, the Site keeps a single “dismissed” marker in your browser’s sessionStorage so the suggestion does not reappear in that tab. It disappears when you close the tab and is not sent to us.
5. How we use and share information
We use the information above to run and improve the Site, understand how it is used, show advertising that supports it, and reply to you. We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers named in this policy (Google, Cloudflare and the hosting provider), and where the law requires.
6. Retention
We keep emails only as long as needed to reply and follow up, and delete them on request. Analytics data is handled in aggregate and is kept by the providers under their own retention settings.
7. International transfers
Google, Cloudflare and GitHub operate globally, so information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States.
8. Third-party links
The Site links to YouTube, Instagram, SoundCloud and other sites. They have their own privacy practices, which we do not control; please read their policies.
9. Your choices and rights
You may ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you (for example, an email you sent), or to restrict how it is used. Email ipe.haven@gmail.com and we will reply within 10 days. Because we do not keep accounts or profiles, in most cases there will be little or nothing beyond your email to act on. You can also use the opt-out tools in sections 2 and 3, and your browser’s cookie controls.
If you are in Korea, you may also contact the Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee (1833-6972, kopico.go.kr) or the Personal Information Infringement Report Center (118, privacy.kisa.or.kr). If you are in the EEA or the UK, you may contact your local data protection authority.
10. Children
The Site is not directed to children under 14, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the effective date above. Material changes will be noted on this page.
12. The app (idle() for iOS)
This section applies only to the iOS app idle() (“the App”) and is separate from sections 1–11 above, which cover the website. The App does not use the website’s analytics, advertising, cookies or local storage.
- No accounts. The App has no sign-up and no login.
- We collect nothing. The App does not collect personal information and does not send information to our servers or to any third party. It contains no analytics, crash-reporting or tracking tools, it does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA), and it does not track you.
- No ads. There is no advertising in the App.
- What stays on your device. The App’s settings (for example theme, language, autoplay, keep-screen-on and vocal choice) and the playlists you create are stored only on your device. They are not sent or synced to any server, and when you delete the App, these saved values are removed too.
- Network. The music and the track list are built into the App, so the App itself makes no network requests. Links in the App (idle.ipe.rest, YouTube, Spotify) open in your device’s browser or in that service’s app only when you tap them, and what happens next is governed by that service’s own privacy policy. If you open idle.ipe.rest, sections 1–11 apply to that website.
- Microphone. The App does not record audio and does not use microphone input. The App’s configuration file contains a text describing the purpose of microphone use, but it is not there for recording or for using the microphone.
- Background playback. The App uses iOS background audio so that music keeps playing when the screen is off or you are using another app. It collects no information for this.
